Favorite "Kernel-Mode Developer" Screen Shots
depicting the trials and tribulations of a Windows kernel mode software developer

My wife Marny gave me a birthday card recently that had this image on it, and this was shortly after I had returned from a week-long Microsoft PlugFest IFS ("installable file system") conference up in Redmond, WA.  It struck me right away that this image captured -- ok, I'm exaggerating just a little here -- the feeling prevalent among the Windows file system filter developers attending the conference.  Such, at any rate, is my conceit.  Anyway it's good for a laugh.  Or, it's better to laugh than to cry.  Or, it helps ease the pain and uncertainty of life in NT kernel space.   These guys do see the humor in the situation, for sure.
