depicting the trials and tribulations of a Windows kernel mode software developer

Here is an image by Stephen Fabian inspired by the old science fiction novel "The Night Land" by William Hope Hodgson, a British author of early science fiction and fantasy who died during World War One.  The story of the "Night Land" takes place in the very distant future (as he saw it) after the Sun had died, leaving the Earth plunged into near-total darkness.  The story involves a journey across this dark and hostile land by an un-named hero.  Along the way, he encounters monsters and demons of fantastic weirdness.  The relevance to Windows NT kernel mode device driver development?  Oh, I dunno, maybe it's just the atmosphere.
